Outdoor Cinema has started a new season of movies in the park, but the good news
is that it's working with the new Holiday Neighborhood to restore the old Holiday
marquee in north Boulder. Details here.
An Ontario-based company, LongRoad Entertainment, says it plans to
buy up land and refurbish existing drive-ins "to reintroduce North American movie goers
to a modernized family Drive-In movie experience." Anyway, it just launched
its web site, which includes
a projection that a four-screen drive-in would cost about $1.3 million to build.
They're working around the clock at the Delsea Drive-In in Vineland NJ,
shooting for a July 4 reopening. The drive-in had been closed since 1987, and required

The Starlite Drive-In in State College PA is still going strong
after 55 years with its original screen. And yet, because of land prices, it's

The Highway 21 Drive-In in Beaufort SC reopened under new
ownership after a one-year hiatus. The new owners started by offering carload
pricing. The full-service concession stand sells bug spray.

The Boulevard Drive-In in Kansas City KS celebrated its 55th
birthday by admitting in free any car made in 1955 or earlier, plus giving out
$55 prizes for most people in a car, car from furthest away, and oldest car.

Between shows at the Fairview Drive-in in Newton IL, they showed
a half hour of romantic movie clips, followed by a marriage proposal. She said

Construction on the Montana Drive-In in Estill Springs TN has taken
longer than expected, and the scheduled opening has been pushed back to at least August.

Fire investigators say someone set fire to several ticket booths at
the Ford-Wyoming Drive-In in Dearborn MI. The booths and some equipment were

Cleveland County NC fined the owner of the Sunset Drive-In in
Shelby because part of the screen could be seen from a nearby road. The owner

Heavy winds blew down the screen at the Macon Drive-In in Macon MO.
Macon residents are considering a "save the drive-in" campaign to raise money for

Outdoor, lawn chair "drive-in" screenings have been getting
more popular lately. "Dozens" of Chicago-area towns plan to have some this summer.

Work crews demolished the drive-in screen and projection house of
the now-former Starlite Drive-In in Palmer Township PA. Developers there plan to

in its 53rd season, but civic leaders expect it will close in a few years or less

A new two-screener near East Laurel MT, the Park Drive-In, is
scheduled to open in mid-June. In will include the screen and some of the speaker
poles from the Park Drive-In that closed last year in Cody WY. Source: Santa

Construction should begin next week to rebuild the site of
the Delsea Drive-In in Vineland NJ. Plans for the drive-in include an

Voters in Southington CT overwhelmingly approved the purchase
of the former Southington Drive-In site for $1.3 million. The land will be used
as open space, but town council members say they plan to keep the screens intact. Sources: New

the mid-1980s. The theater will be a focal point for the town's 100-year

The Columbia (PA) Drive-In hopes to raise enough this season to buy
the land it currently leases. "If we buy it, it will always remain a drive-in,"

The folks who opened a drive-in in the parking lot of Detroit's
Silverdome hope to do the same thing in the parking lot of the Compuware Sports

A new ownership group hopes to reopen the Plaza 21 Drive-In in
Grays Hill SC. The Plaza 21 closed in Spring 2003. The new owners say they also plan

A new annual festival in Dallas TX, the CityArts Celebration, will
include "drive-in" movies shown on an outdoor screen. The Celebration is

In Kautokeino, Norway, they're building an entire drive-in,
screen and ampitheater, out of snow. The vehicles they're expecting?

Bad news from Alpharetta GA, where a planned drive-in was
shouted down at a city council meeting. The development was opposed by

The Sunset drive-in is under attack in Shelby NC. Some neighbors with
